How was everyone’s weekend?
It’s officially winter here in South Africa but this weekend was actually pretty hot. As a last salute to the sun, I threw caution to the wind and ditched my jerseys and scarves and wore something light. What better way is there to put off winter than with flowers, right? Don’t let my squinty eyes fool you, I really was awake when this photo was taken, it was just bright outside 🙂

The title of this post is courtesy of my Dad who said that exact phrase when I wore this outfit for lunch with my family. Not exactly a compliment but I am undeterred in my love for furry vests. I love how they keep you warm without sweltering and I love the fact that, because it kind of looks outrageous, you can add lavish accessories and it still works 🙂
Any other “woolly mammoths” out there who love furry vests or am I really on the extinct list?
Have a fabulous Friday everyone!
Seeing as it is Monday I thought I would post a “happy” outfit as a little pick-me-up 🙂
I love colors, but I don’t really like wearing very bright colors – especially several bright colors all at once. However, sometimes exceptions must be made and when I saw this top, I thought it was too fun to say no to. Even though D wasn’t impressed, I merrily sang, “Girls just wanna have fun” in a terrible Cindi Lauper impression and bought it. Sometimes you just need to buy something that makes you happy 🙂
Have a wonderful Monday!

The other day D and I took the Bostons (our dogs) for a walk in the park and then decided to grab some coffee. I don’t exactly dress up to walk the dogs but I wanted to look nice over coffee – I mean, my poor husband had to look at me 😉 – so I channeled Clark Kent and with just a few tweaks I was ready for lunch Superman style (if Superman was a woman and liked lace blazers …).
Note to self: A blazer and necklace are so handy to keep around – in a matter of seconds they can help you go from casual dog walker to a lady on a coffee date.
There’s something about wearing a sweater over a button shirt that makes me feel put together. It may be silly but it is a combination that always make me feel sophisticated and ready to work.
What’s your go-to work outfit?

I love a good military jacket – it is the perfect item to wear when you want to look casual and relaxed, but they are also fun to glam up a bit.
If the idea of wearing a military jacket seems too tomboyish for you, give it a feminine twist with some statement earrings or a floral scarf. Not only will you look cool, but you will feel pretty too 🙂
Is there any clothing item you are absolutely loving now?

These shoes always make me think of an English garden so I decided to play on that and wear it with my yellow handbag and green shirt – hence the title garden delight 🙂 The outfit ended up being slightly ironic as it started raining and didn’t stop for the rest of the day. So let’s ignore the fact that no matter what I do my hair always looks slightly messy and blame this hair on the weather …
All this talk of English gardens has made me feel like some tea and crumpets! Actually that seems like a good way to welcome the weekend … Do I know how to have a good time or what? 🙂 If anyone has any other exciting suggestions, please share!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
