My no-effort required outfit

I have been sick for the past week and it has not been a pretty sight. The last few days have been spent in bed with no make-up on, layered up like an Eskimo because I have flu and our house is freezing. For some inexplicable reason D and I have no heater (or apparently the inclination to buy one either, because at least twice a day we comment to one another how we really need to get one but, alas, still no heater …).

Although I took  a couple days off work to try get better, I had to go back eventually. On days where I feel sick, or just don’t feel like putting in any effort, my military jacket is my go-to “No effort required” outfit. It requires minimal fuss, is super comfy and is one of those pieces that is just really easy to wear and adds an extra element to an outfit that otherwise might look a bit plain. My favorite way to wear it is with a striped top and a chunky necklace as seen in the photos.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

All orange

I usually avoid orange like the plague (because I think it makes me look like I actually have the plague) and usually go towards more peach-toned hues, but I loved this necklace when I saw it on Zando and the memory of an orange lipstick that lives in the back of my make-up drawer inspired me. And, voila, an orange outfit is worn. Do you have any colors you just don’t like? I adore red but hardly ever wear it for some reason …  Perhaps that should be my next challenge 🙂

From dog walking to a coffee date

The other day D and I took the Bostons (our dogs) for a walk in the park and then decided to grab some coffee. I don’t exactly dress up to walk the dogs but I wanted to look nice over coffee – I mean, my poor husband had to look at me 😉 – so I channeled Clark Kent and with just a few tweaks I was ready for lunch Superman style (if Superman was a woman and liked lace blazers …).

Note to self: A blazer and necklace are so handy to keep around – in a matter of seconds they can help you go from casual dog walker to a lady on a coffee date.
